Journal Entry #3: Do these people never rest???

Confidence in my career/choice of major: 55%

                It's fine. It's allll fine. I'm not tired at all. I'm goooooddd. I don't feel sick at all. Not at all. Not even one bit. This one? I'll take no points. Yeah. I just want to put it on the blog for completion's sake. So I can get the confidence-o-meter in here. Feel free to ignore. Yeehaw.

Well maybe I can say about about the confidence-o-meter. Based on the research I've done, it seems like there are a few big names who do a lot of shows. It feels like how people keep casting movie stars in everything. Like do they just get cast because they've got that name recognition and star power? How does a little fish like me find their big break? I don't know. They've got so many credits. It seems like they never rest. I don't know how to be Chris Pratt! I'm not Garfield!

Gregg Barnes definitely deserved that Tony for his costumes for some like it hot. I mean I didn't love every costume but there were a few that were just so gorgeous they deserved it all on their own.

Found a reddit AMA from Kevin Adams, which was pretty cool. It's always neat to see theatre professionals talk candidly, especially since I find them to be so unapproachable. Sure wish I had given myself enough time to actually go through it thoroughly and talk about it. Oh well. It's late and I have my costume design final at 8 am tomorrow.

The confidence-o-meter.... yes... I was just feeling like a very very small, small fish. Maybe one that's not even in the pond. One that's trying to get in the pond. Look at it flopping around. Poor little guy.

The problem with publishing these journal entries last is that they're objectively the worst, and because of the way Blogger works they are stuck at the top of my page. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr bark bark bark bark I hate the consequences of my actions.

Journal Entry #8: Some Like it Hot (and by some I mean everyone in that audience)

Confidence in my career/choice of major: 70% Song stuck in my head: Clean Slated State by The Altogether                     Walking out after the show on the 12th, my biggest takeaway was, "Hey, maybe musical theatre is awesome, actually?"                     I knew there was a high probability of me enjoying Some Like it Hot . I'm a big fan of tap dancing, jazz music, and the glitzy art deco aesthetics of the 1920/30s. There was no way I was going to dislike  the show. Plus, I'm a pretty easy person to entertain, generally. Journal Entry #10: FINALLY

December 1 st , 2024. 5:22 PM. FINAL Confidence in my career/choice of major: 100%! Just kidding it’s like 70% still FINAL song stuck in my head: Love Like You by Rebecca Sugar      Distilling my thoughts about this class and what I’ve learned into one neat little journal entry is a little bit of a daunting task for someone who can hardly remember what they ate for breakfast this morning.                      I believe the most valuable thing I gained by participating in this class is a better understanding of the touring process, as well as better understanding of the kind of work I'd think I'd like to do in theatre.                      Touring seems like a very, very valuable experience, as it's a great way to learn as you work.
